A Guide to Cardsmiths Currency Series 4: Variants, Redemption Cards and Gemstones

Cardsmiths Currency Trading Cards Series 4 is packed with creative designs, rare foils, crypto-themed redemptions, and vibrant parallels. But for first-time collectors, it can be a lot to take in.

This guide walks through everything you might find when opening a Series 4 pack — from Base to Gemstone Refractors and Bitcoin 1/1 cards, so you know exactly what you’re looking at.

Basic Set Overview

Cards feature original art with themes drawn from currency, history, and science. Each Series 4 pack contains cards drawn from a total of 80 unique card designs, including:

  • 70 Regular base cards
  • 10 Short Print (SP) base cards

On top of these, there are some ultra-rare cards, which we will discuss later on.

Variants

For each of the 80 card designs, there are 5 types of unnumbered variants. Base variant cards are guaranteed in every pack, and, all things considered, the rest variants here are quite easy to pull. The following are the published pull odds: Collector Parallel Rainbow Holofoil 1:3, Collector Parallel Matrix Holofoil 1:3, Collector Parallel Iced Foil 1:3

1. Base

  • Feature unique designs without foiled surfaces
  • SP (Short Print) base cards are more limited

2. Rainbow Holofoil

  • A holographic rainbow sheet overlays the artwork

3. Iced Foil

  • Features a foil logo on the back instead of the artwork.
  • In the photo below, Yield Farming is an Iced Foil variant and Jacob Beam is a base.

4. Crystal Sparkle Foil

  • Salt-like holographic sparkles with no border, creating a floating art effect

5. Matrix Holofoil

  • Square patterns in the foil give it a digital look

Gemstone Refractors

On top of the unnumbered variants, each card also has 13 gemstone variants. These variants have unique patterns in the front, and a serial number etched in the back; when you pull one you will know it!

Here is a list of the Gemstone Refractors and their print runs:

Variant NamePrint Run
Beryl149
Emerald99
Garnet75
Silver50
Amethyst49
Opal45
Jade45
Citrine40
Ruby25
Aquamarine15
Gold10

Onyx1

It is important to note that some gems are exclusive to the type of box you purchased:

  • Jade can exclusively be found from packs of Collector Boxes (2 packs = 10 cards)
  • Opal can exclusively be found from packs of Mega Boxes (8 packs = 40 cards)

In the collector’s lingo, the card with lowest serial number (1/X) is called Alpha and the one with the highest (X/X) Omega. These are unofficial terms, but usually will make those cards more valuable.

Special subsets: Meta Rares, Cold Foils, Exclusives, Double-Sides Holofoils and other exotic cards
